These sessions bring together drum, gong, rattle, bowls and other instruments alongside voice to create a continuous, immersive sound field. You are not required to do anything. Simply lie or sit comfortably and allow the sound to unfold around you.
Sessions typically run for sixty to ninety minutes and are suitable for most people, including those with no prior experience of sound work. The only preparation needed is a willingness to arrive and be present. Everything else is taken care of.
How immersive sound experiences are offered
Sessions are usually offered in a group setting. You will typically be lying down, supported with mats, blankets, or cushions, while the instruments are played around you. Whilst it is good to come to an immersive sound experience with an intention, this can be as simple as wanting to feel calmer or more relaxed.
The sound moves through different textures, from steady, grounding tones to more spacious or expansive phases. At times it may feel deeply calming, at others more activating or emotionally resonant. The session is shaped in the moment, responding to the group, the space, and what is emerging. No two sessions are the same, and we are both experienced in reading a room rather than following a set plan.
What immersive sound experiences can support
This work may support:
- deep relaxation and nervous system settling
- a shift out of mental overactivity
- emotional processing or release
- improved sleep and rest
- a sense of connection, presence, and spaciousness
- an accessible introduction to sound work before exploring one-to-one sessions
For many people, immersive sound makes it easier to reach a deeply relaxed or meditative state and can help reduce stress and support overall wellbeing. Experiences vary from person to person. Sessions are offered as a space in which something may unfold, not as a guaranteed outcome.
